Vintage Japanese Chocolate Pot Hand Painted Blue Bird Cherry Blossom Tree and Landscape

Description

With lovely hand painted enamel decoration, this vintage Japanese chocolate pot features a red breasted blue bird perched beneath a blossoming cherry blossom tree, and on the reverse is a lake scene with overhanging branches of the cherry blossom tree. Made circa 1920s-1940s.

The coffee pot is 9″ high and 6 1/2″ wide from end of handle to tip of spout. Base is 5″ wide.

The mark on the base reads “HAND PAINTED – MADE IN (the word ‘JAPAN’ has worn off)” with a gateway image.

Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Natural wear to gold trim.
